Guri guri is sort of a cross between ice cream and sorbet. They only have two flavors and when I saw the prices my mouth quite literally fell open. We got two scoops of each flavor to share and it was so yummy! I personally liked the pineapple more than the strawberry, but with these prices definitely try both. Cash only!
Tasaka Guri Guri is located near the Queen Ka'ahumanu mall in Maui and is known for its refreshing guri guri. The place is cash only!! The shop is pretty small and only accommodates one group at a time - there's also no indoor seating but the wait goes by pretty quick. There were 2 flavors of guri guri (strawberry & pineapple), and you pay either by the scoop or can purchase a quart. The quart comes in a Chinese takeout container but holds up pretty well if refrigerated or eaten right away. If you want extra cups they are 15 cents each. The pineapple guri guri was a good amount of sweet and was a unique balance between ice cream and sorbet. I'd definitely recommend coming here for a refreshing sweet treat while in the area!

One of the places I was recommended with visiting Maui! We were on a food journey, so we opted for the 2 scoops just get a sample! They only have two flavors: strawberry and pineapple. They were both delicious! For the texture, think somewhere between ice cream and shave ice. It was so refreshing and much needed in the heat. I love how tiny the scoops are so you can literally treat yourself to as little (or as much) as you want!

Cash Only! This was one of our first stops once we arrived, and it was a great way to start our trip. We weren't sure what to expect... maybe ice cream or sorbet... but it was fluffier than sorbet and not as creamy as ice cream. We loved it! The flavors (pineapple and strawberry) were yummy and light - not too sweet. They complimented each other nicely and we enjoyed alternating flavors for every bite. It was a refreshing treat. The price is also quite inexpensive. You really can't beat this unique dessert. A must in Maui!
